The First Call


Our team had a conversation with her to understand what she was looking for. She told us she wanted something simple and personal, a shoot at her own home, nothing too over the top.


We connected her with our photographer who has been doing maternity shoots for years. He spoke with her about what the shoot would look like, what kind of setup works best at home, what lighting works, and what poses are comfortable during pregnancy.

He also gave her a few tips to prepare:

  • Get a good night's sleep before the shoot
  • Stay hydrated
  • Do a light oil massage on your belly the night before  it shows well in photos
  • Keep your nails neat
  • Eat something light before we arrive


The Dress


She was not sure what to wear. A lot of clients face this. Buying a new outfit just for a photoshoot does not always make sense.


We told her that Impresio Studio has its own collection of maternity outfits. We sent her photos of the dresses we have different colors, different styles. She went through them and picked the one she liked. That was sorted without any stress.


She also shared her home address and a couple of photos of her living room so our team could plan ahead.

Shoot Day


Our team reached her place in Powai in the morning. There were five people:

The photographer

The videographer — she wanted a short reel as well

An assistant to manage the equipment

A makeup artist — who is part of our team


A prop artist who sets up the space before the shoot begins

The makeup artist started with her look kept it natural and light, nothing heavy. Then she helped her into the dress she had chosen.


Meanwhile the prop artist set up the space. He used flowers, some soft fabric, and a few props to make the area look clean and put together. Nothing excessive. Just enough to make the background look good in photos.


During the Shoot


She was a little nervous at the start. That is completely normal. Most clients are.

Our photographer did not rush into poses right away. He spoke with her for a bit, explained what he was going to do, and started with easy, comfortable positions first. Once she got used to the camera and the team around her, things moved naturally.


By the middle of the shoot she was relaxed. The videographer was capturing everything alongside  her movements, small moments, the overall feel of the day.


The whole shoot took a couple of hours.

After the Shoot


Once the shoot was done, the raw files went to our editing team. They went through all the photos and the video carefully adjusted the light, the color, made sure everything looked consistent and clean.


The reel was edited separately with the kind of feel she had in mind when she booked us.


Within a few days she received her edited photos and her reel.

She was happy with what she got. That is what matters to us at the end of the day.
